Grants Announced for 2010

The Board of Directors of the Kays Foundation today announced grants to a Computer Science faculty member and to the ASU Band Program.

The two proposals chosen for 2010 funding will support the following:

     ASU Department of Computer Science, Dr. E. T. Hammerand, Associate Professor in the amount of  $4,350.00 which will be used to expand the Crowley's Ridge BEST Robotics program from seventeen (17) participating schools to twenty-four (24) to help reach a wider audience and expose more students to engineering and science.

     The second grant of $15,000.00 to the ASU Band Program will assist in providing the ASU Wind Ensemble funds to travel to Las Cruces, New Mexico on April 10, 2010 to perform at the College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) Conference. 

The Kays Foundation is a private, non-profit foundation supporting Arkansas State University.
