Kays Foundation announced Grants for the 2008 year

January 16, 2008 -- JONESBORO

The Board of Directors of  the Kays Foundation today announced grants to the Arkansas State University Department of Music and to a Computer Science faculty member. The two proposals chosen for 2008-2009 funding will provide support for the following:

• Department of Music, Dr. Tom O'Connor, Chair in the amount of $27,886.56 for the purchase of Sousaphones for the Arkansas State University Marching Band.

• Department of Computer Science, Dr. E. T. Hammerand, Associate Professor in the amount of $2,550.00 to help upgrade equipment and expand the amount of teams participating in the BEST Robotics competition hosted by Arkansas State University.

The Kays Foundation is a private, non-profit foundation supporting Arkansas State University.
